Formed in 2016, High Court County set out from the start to do their own style of Rock, Country, and Blues. Since forming they’ve played countless shows ranging from clubs to large music festivals.
They knew from the start that they wanted to be much more than a great cover band and began the adventure of writing, arranging, recording, and producing their own music.
They released their debut self titled EP in early 2017 followed by “Here We Go Again”, which feature the song Bonfire Friday Night that charted #1 on Indie country Radio. They continued to have radio success with the follow up single “Make It Sing”.
The past two years of the pandemic have not only strengthened their song writing skills but also their producing talents.
In 2020 they released their self produced song Broken Wing, a heart-warming earthy stripped-down song of nylon string guitar, slide, and a haunting drum rhythm about life’s struggles.
Most recently the 4-piece band released their anthem song titled “These Days”. Once again, they wrote, arranged, and produced it themselves. This time they pulled out all the stops with an incredible full sounding production of rockin’ guitars, keys, huge drums, and big chorus harmonies. The song reflects on their own struggles, depression, and loneliness brought on by the pandemic. The opening lyrics sung to just piano, “What Time is it, what day is it, what good is it, the hell with it” really says it all. The song moves through several tempos, dynamics and rhythms that truly reflect the ups and downs we all experienced.
For the first time the group also released a professional music video for the song, “These Days”. Award winning Roadhouse Productions did an incredible job communicating the essence.
High Court County is currently working on their next release and continues to channel a vast musical background ranging across many genres. Together they create a magic blend that bridges the gap between the mainstream and the alternative world.
Stephen, Arie, Brian and Russell march to their own drummer. They thrive on performing, recording, and sharing great music.
